Here’s a list with accompanying videos of The Love of Sports’ top 15 human highlight films. Auburn’s own Bo Jackson tops the list. Take a look and notice that there are no bammers in site. Come to think of it, has Alabama ever had a player that was nationally recognized or famous for anything other than being a drunk?

He’s done it again. au.tiger.96 gives a good look at next year as well as some of our accomplishments over the last 5 years. Read it and weep Bammers. The beginning of this is a little slow but it makes the ending so good.

For the second consecutive year, I am hosting the kurtbranch.com Bracket Challenge Group on CBS Sportsline. There is no money involved, unless everybody decides they want to do it that way. Otherwise, you are playing for pride. So good luck. Oh, and if you think you have no clue, and you haven’t watched a game all year, then you will probably win…seriously. You will also need to create a CBS Sportsline account, if you do not have one already, but I think it only asks for your name and email, so don’t use that as an excuse. Oh and don’t worry Auburn basketball fans. This year we won’t have that emotional battle we have every 20 years of choosing a team over Auburn in the bracket.

I know this is late, but I just found this, and like the other videos I recently added, they are by our man, autiger96. Whoever you are, you need an Oscar. Email him and let him know your praise at au.tiger.96@gmail.com. This video is a perfect mix of the beat down that was the 2007 Iron Bowl, and the best musical composition for a feature film heard by the human ear, besides the entire soundtrack of Braveheart. I give you Auburn over Alabama and the final piece of The Last of the Mohicans. Is there anything better? I think not. Enjoy.

I just thought it was funny that every picture of Paul Rhoads(Auburn’s new Defensive Coordinator from Pitt) that I see, he looks completely different.
For example:

During Iron Bowl week, I like to pull out the old VHS copy of the 1989 ‘First Time Ever’ Iron Bowl, and if you’d like to shed a little tear, I recommend you do the same. After the game, there is footage of Pat Dye’s post game speech(after Auburn had just beaten Alabama 30-20), where he says probably the best lines in college football coaching history. Eat this, Lou Holtz. They include(and these are paraphrased and all from memory, but almost perfectly correct):

“This is the reason why we work you in the summer time and January and February and the Spring. This is the reason why we push you beyond what you think you can do: to experience moment’s likeeus (like this).”

“It don’t matter who’s carrying the ball, who’s throwing it, who’s rushing the passer, or who’s making the tackles, just as long as he’s got a blue jersey on.”

“Sure, I’d like to be 12, 11-0, and you know, but I’m ‘on tell you something: I wouldn’t swap this year for any year I’ve been at Auburn. I wouldn’t swap it men ’cause I’ve watched you struggle, and I’ve watched you wrestle with them angels….and, and, and….but I’ve watched you grow up and become men……I watched you become men(quivering lip).”

If that last one doesn’t give you chill bumps or make your own lip quiver, then you either just lost to UL-Monroe, or you’re dead. Well here you go…check my memory.

Anyway, yeah Alabama lost to UL-Monroe, but I’m pretty sure a little bit more determined team will show up to Jordan-Hare this Saturday. I never say anything resembling trash talk before this game. I learned my lesson in elementary school. Those little kids are brutal with their trash talk. Anyway, I’ll post some more thoughts on the game later this week.In basketball news, Auburn somehow withstood the entire Cherokee nation and took down Chief Kickingstallionsims and the rest of his Alabama State Hornets. We barely won, so I’m not too happy, but it looks like we’ve got a new star on our team, Matt Heramb.

War Hawk! I mean uh, War Eagle!

I figured I’d take a little break from football since we don’t have a game this week and look into to the Auburn basketball team: my second favorite Auburn sport, the only Auburn team I yell at in anger. Ok, so we have all these players coming back, everybody in fact, from a team that was decent last year. We beat Alabama twice, and were 40 seconds away from winning the West, but somehow lost it in the end to Ole Miss.

So like I said, we have all these people coming back and should be so great, then what happens? Our two leading scorers decide to act stupid and/or take a medical redshirt. Lebo refuses to release the reason for Josh Dollard’s medical redshirt, so it must be something embarrassing. Maybe something that starts with an S, ends in a D, and has a T in the middle? I don’t know, I’m just speculating. lucashargrovedunk.jpegNo really I’m just kidding. I hope he gets better, and actually it’s kinda good, cause we’ll have him for two more years. But on the stupid front, we have Quan Prowell, who is two-for-two in starting the season on suspension. He is probably the closest thing Auburn has had to Chris Porter in 10 years and I guess he has to act like him off the court as well. Why can’t we catch a break? We look like we’re gonna do alright, and stupid messes it up again.

Also, to top it off, we are for some reason playing a ton of road games to start the season, besides the monumental battle with Kennessaw State. I kinda agree with this idea, but obviously it’s not working out very well for us. We lost to TULANE!…TULANE by 15!. What? I mean I know our two best players aren’t there, but seriously, what’s the deal? I mean I’m sure we’ll do alright in the SEC. Lebo looks like he’s starting to make up some ground on the rest of the teams, before he leaves for a basketball school the minute we win the West. But Tulane? What a great start to the season that was supposed to be the best in a while for Auburn.

Anyway, so at this point we are 1-1, and tonight we play our friends from down I-85, the hornets, Alabama State. Ok, we should win this one right? At first glance you would think so. But after doing a little research, I think our chances are very slim. They have a freaking Indian on their team. Not like Indian from India. I’m talking Indian like Native American. And not just the village idiot. We’re talking the Chief of the whole tribe. Check this out…and this is totally for real. Read the rest of this entry »
