Ms. New Booty

Why she hasn’t gone on American Idol yet, I will never know.
I’m sorry, I know this is mean, but I found another one…

For those that still have no idea what’s going on, here’s the original, although this is the second time they did it. I was singing along to their first performance, which has a few different lyrics.
Also, I don’t think it’s a coincidence that the night after I post my video, Jimmy, Horatio, and a few others gave a special performance of this song on “Late Night with Jimmy Fallon”. Yes, that is Horatio Sanz, and yes that is the lead singer of the The Strokes, Julian Casablancas. He covered the song as a bonus track on his latest album. Here it is:
Monday Morning Vomit Inducer
Oct 6th
Has anybody seen Children of the Corn? The little opening of this song would definitely fit perfectly into any horror film. This whole thing is just like a bad movie.
Wednesday Afternoon Awkwardness
Sep 24th
For the record, I am in no way making fun of what these people are singing about, their convictions, their beliefs, or anything of that nature. I believe exactly what they believe, as long as it’s not believing that this was a good idea. I don’t care if they are singing “I like Crackerjacks”, this is the weirdest and most awkward thing I have ever seen.
Travis Barker Awesomeness and Bigfoot
Aug 15th
Travis Barker, for those that don’t know, was the drummer of Blink-182 (don’t act like you’ve never liked a Blink-182 song). Since they broke up, he’s been in a few bands and a few reality tv shows, but lately he’s been more of a freelance drummer which means more money and more free time to do awesome stuff like this. I don’t care what kind of music you like, this will make your head bob. It doesn’t just take a drummer to appreciate this.

As some of you may know, I have begun to play some music around town lately with Dallas Dorsey. Recently one Kevin Flannagan has graced us with us presence onstage for a few gigs. I have quite a few videos of our masterful performances on my YouTube channel. If you would like to run on over there and check them out, here’s the link. There is also a link on the sidebar over there ->. Feel free to subscribe to my channel and/or rate and comment each video. Here’s an example of a face-melting performance.
Wild Sweet Orange on Letterman
Jun 29th
Some of you may know that my stepbrother-in-law, Taylor Shaw, is in a band called Wild Sweet Orange. They have been touring the country and parts of Canada for most of the year, and recently made their national TV debut on the Late Show. All these guys are from Birmingham, and grew up together. My wife, Meg, grew up going to church with the lead singer, Preston Lovinggood (and from what I’ve heard, it is…just kidding). Anyway, here’s the video from this past Friday night on Letterman:

Lame-O Thursday: More Top-Head
May 15th
As you can tell, I don’t like this guy, to win American Idol at least. I don’t like him for the same reason I didn’t like Chris Daughtry: they sound the exact same in every song. For the record, I’m fine with Chris Daughtry now, other than he tries to act American Idol never happened. He wouldn’t be anywhere without it. And now I shamefully realize that my post is much lamer than the video.
Lame-O Thursday: Too Much Top-Head
May 8th
There are many a lame-o thing in this post: the fact that I watch American Idol, the fact that this guy has more top-head than anyone I’ve ever seen yet still sees the need to spike his hair up and make his head look even longer, and the fact that he took one of the coolest, yet simplest, power chord phrases and dumbed it down to a little Casio keyboard.
