Lame-O Thursday: Bama is back?

I know this is old, but I saw it the other day and laughed as hard as I did the first time I saw it. This is the most premature and lame magazine cover I have ever seen. On a non-lame note, I have added the ‘KB Today’ section to the sidebar over there. I will be posting a new picture everyday so you can see my beard/weight/head fluctuate daily.

Bama is back?

In all fairness, this cover wasn’t lame because it simply said “Bama is Back.” It was lame because Sports Illustrated was a bit premature and flawed in saying that Alabama was back. The team was 5-0 http://tidentenn.com/tidentenn.shtml)
at the time headed into the Ole Miss game, and no game so far had even been close. This little run at the beginning of the season of course included a victory at home against a highly ranked Florida team that made UA look like champs. (Also made Shula look like an idiot to have the most electric player on the field in the game in the 4th quarter only to have Prothro break his leg. You can’t blame him for playing Prothro though. The guy wanted to play and so his coach put him in.) However, at the time that this cover was printed (10-10-2005), there was no hotter team in the country. Actually, until about the 4th quarter of the Florida game, there wasn’t a hotter team in the country.

There Kurt. I posted. Please don’t put my face in place of Brodie’s. I don’t want to have bad dreams of Stanley McGlover.
